I have been working on the Mom's Room project for several years, constantly developing and supplementing it. The theme of motherhood is common to many women in different parts of the world. Motherhood is not only a joy, it is not only a concern, it is a new reality that changes you. How not to lose yourself in this new reality? How to become a mother, grow up, gain new experiences, but remain yourself? How to combine two lives, two identities - the old and the new? I am working on all these issues in my project. I have been living motherhood for eleven years, I have three children. I've worked on some topics, some I'm only beginning to understand now, and some I still have to live and comprehend. This project is my way of speaking. This is a kind of documentation of motherhood.
The project has several exposure options. In this case, it is a total installation, which is a living room into which my works are integrated. This room is, on the one hand, the outer space that surrounds me, and on the other hand, the inner space that is in my head: thoughts, feelings, images.
Mom's room is a shelter that she creates to hide in it from the whirlwinds of the outside world. She becomes his walls, protecting the children from the changeability and impermanence outside. She collects old children's things, keeps drawings and notebooks, as if trying to hold on to her children's childhood, to stop time, which is inexorably running forward. She is trying to survive the changes inside and adapt to the constant changes outside. She creates a "Mom's Room" that is both private and public, intimate and ready to let guests in, which preserves authentic things and, at the same time, is a collective image.
